Join us in a livestream discussion and Q&A on the same day as the launch with filmmaker Gladys Ng, writer Zoea Tania, and musician thistlemorse, as they share more about experimenting with images in film and non-linear narratives, working across film, poetry and music, and capturing the cosmos with an iPhone.

This session is moderated by Jerome Chee (Programmer, Moving Image and Emerging Media, ArtScience Museum).

About the Filmmaker

  • Gladys Ng

    Gladys' films reflect her nature, ephemeral, often nuanced and subtle, interspersed with wry humour . Her films are hosted at Objectifs ’ Film Library. ‘My Father After Dinner’, was presented Best Singapore Short at the 26th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF). Under a commission from SGIFF, she made ‘The Pursuit of a Happy Human Life’, which she had developed during a film residency with Objectifs and Thai Film Archive. In 2020, ‘Under the Same Pink Sky’, was awarded Best Directing and Best Editing at the National Youth Film Awards.

  • Zoea Tania

    Zoea is a creator, writer and performer from Singapore. In her works she explores the ephemeral and the fragility of existence. She is inspired by the powers of introspection, dreams, poetry, and the cosmos. In recent years, she co wrote a short film "CA$H" that was screened in the 41st Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival. She also co created an interdisciplinary theatre piece "Blank Run" that had a sold out run at World Stage Design in Taipei 2017. Most recently, she co created a piece "Round Round Buns" with her theatre collective "Chop Chili Chop" that was staged in Taipei.

  • thistlemorse (Vivien)

    Vivien’s multi disciplinary talents stretches across different fields. Performing music under the pseudonym of thistlemorse , she was also part of electronic, dream pop quintet, Lemonpuffs . Her latest composition is featured in short film, ‘Under the Same Pink Sky’. Also a freelance editor, she has a passion for editing non linear, thought provoking stories.
