Visualizing the Universe

Saturday 6 September 2014 | 1.30pm – 6pm
ArtScience Museum Level 4 

Don’t miss this fascinating afternoon of talks with astronomy specialists, artists, and scholars presenting a range of issues relating to the representation of astronomy in art, popular culture and science. 
The event will investigate how visual representations help us understand complex astronomical and cosmological phenomena, and will include debates on how visualization operates in a branch of science where knowledge in a state of constant flux.

See ArtScience research in action and explore innovative ideas on show. With opportunities for interaction with the inventions, discussions with the makers, and workshops where you can have a go yourself, there is something to interest and engage all ages of visitors.

Experience the fusion of art, design and technology in game development through the innovative minds of 32 young talents from the Game Innovation Programme of SUTD

Technology, Art and Fashion

Sunday, 7 September | 1pm – 7pm
School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University

Explore interactive fashion innovations and wearable technologies including garments that react to light, sound and movement, and take part in a game which utilizes e-textile, sensors and microcontrollers.

Sunday Showcase allows visitors unique access to cutting edge projects being undertaken by different tertiary institutions across Singapore. The series invites the creators and their work into ArtScience Museum on a Sunday each month. The creators are on hand throughout the afternoon to talk with visitors about their inventions, their creative process, and to facilitate visitors' interaction with the projects. There is something for everyone in this hands-on, accessible showcase series.

The Architecture of ArtScience Museum (Guided Tour)

Free to participate. Up to 20 participants on a first-come-first-served basis.

Learn about the architectural features and environmentally friendly design of the award-winning ArtScience Museum through an engaging and visual tour.

Architecture Adventure (Workshop)

Sundays | 5pm - 6pm
Meeting point: Five minutes before start of session at ArtScience Museum lobby

Free to participate. Recommended for families with children up to 8 years old. Up to 20 participants on a first-come-first-served basis.

What makes a building iconic? This workshop for family visitors introduces the ArtScience Museum building through an illustrated story, an interactive tour and a hands-on activity using intriguing construction materials. Includes sticker and drawing booklet.
