Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb

27 April – 4 November 2013

A 3,000 year-old mystery will unwrap in April. For the first time in Southeast Asia, secrets of the mysterious Egyptian burial practices and mummification process will be revealed in Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb.

Immerse yourself in a 3D film experience that captures the “virtual unwrapping” of the 3,000-year old mummy of Egyptian temple priest Nesperennub – whose original cartonnage coffin has never been opened – to unveil the story of his life and death, complete with a digital reconstruction of his facial appearance.

Be amazed with over 100 artefacts, including six exceptionally preserved mummies from the extensive and famed Egyptian collection of the British Museum. The exhibition will explore the mysterious rituals of life, death and the afterlife in ancient Egypt.

This exhibition is presented through the collaboration of The British Museum and ArtScience Museum.

Note: The 3D film shown in conjunction with Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb has been approved for general public viewing.  ArtScience Museum, however, does not recommend this film for children under 6 years of age.  Parents and guardians are reminded that children visiting the exhibition (including the theatre) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Art of the Brick

17 November 2012 – 26 May 2013 (Final weeks!)

Unlike most people, New York-based artist Nathan Sawaya never stopped building, creating and exploring his own imagination using LEGO® bricks which he has played with since a young age.

In this critically acclaimed and the first major museum exhibition to use LEGO bricks as the sole art medium, Sawaya transforms them into awe-inspiring and thought-provoking sculptures, elevating the toy to the realm of art.

The Art of the Brick at ArtScience Museum will be the biggest yet, showcasing 52 sculptures including the iconic sculpture Yellow, a 6-meter long T-rex dinosaur skeleton, and – to be unveiled for the first time – a sculpture of ArtScience Museum.

Note: The Art of the Brick exhibition contains strobe lighting and smoke effects.
