Staying Vigilant

Scammers have become increasingly creative and are preying on unsuspecting victims through commonly used platforms, such as mobile text messages, phone calls, social media advertisements, QR codes or email.

These scams have become very prevalent and often target individuals who have a relationship with well-known entities, from government bodies to corporate brands.

We have become aware of websites and communications claiming to provide gaming services, membership perks, and other suspicious messages which are alleged to be on behalf of Marina Bay Sands.

We would like to remind everyone that Marina Bay Sands:

  • does not offer any online or remote gaming services, nor are we associated with any gambling website service providers;
  • will never request membership-related information or other personal identification information in text messages or by email

We recommend that you remain extra vigilant against phishing attempts, particularly against clicking on links that may direct you to malicious websites where your password or other personal information may be requested. Please also be cautious of unsolicited messages requesting membership-related information and do not engage with such mobile phone text messages or emails.

If you receive a suspicious-looking message claiming to be from Marina Bay Sands and asking for your membership details, or asking you to click on external links that do not belong to Marina Bay Sands, you may wish to do the following:

  1. Call our Call Centre at +65 6688 8868 to verify the authenticity of the message;
  2. Report the scam messages to the Police so that the authorities can investigate those telephone numbers. Marina Bay Sands will cooperate with the authorities to facilitate their investigations;
  3. Subscribe to ScamShield so that scam messages and calls from numbers used in illegal activities can be automatically blocked or sent to your phone’s junk folder. The ScamShield app is developed by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC), in collaboration with Open Government Products (OGP), a division of the Government Technology Agency and the Singapore Police Force.
