The BCA Green Mark Scheme was launched in January 2005 as an initiative to drive Singapore's construction industry towards more environment-friendly buildings and to raise environmental awareness among developers, designers and builders. Marina Bay Sands is one of the single largest buildings in Singapore to be conferred the Green Mark Platinum Award by the Building and Construction Authority.

Developed by more than 100 industry leading practitioners, the standards include more than seven assessment categories, including sustainable procurement policy and waste and water management.

Marina Bay Sands is the largest hotel in Singapore to be conferred this certification.

ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management System Certification

Granted by BSI Hong Kong

Marina Bay Sands is South East Asia's first MICE facility to obtain the ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management System certification in February 2014. ISO 20121 provides the framework for identifying the potentially negative social, economic and environmental impacts of events by removing or reducing them, and capitalizing on more positive impacts through improved planning and processes.

Michelin Star

Granted by Michelin Guide Singapore

The Michelin Guide Singapore is an annual guidebook that awards Michelin stars, with recommendations independently and anonymously provided by the Michelin Guide’s team of international restaurant dining inspectors. Michelin stars are coveted by many chefs but bestowed upon only to an excellent few. Singapore is the first Southeast Asian country, and only the fourth Asian territory (after Japan, Hong Kong and Macau) to be rated by the Michelin Guide.

Top 50 Engineering Feats

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) commemorated Singapore’s 50th birthday in 2015 and IES’ 50th anniversary in 2016 with Engineering Feats @ SG50 competition to identify 50 engineering projects, via votes from Singaporeans that have made economic and social impact to Singapore.
