A Legacy of Concerts & Festivals at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre

How world-class entertainment and global events converge in a multi-format destination

Since opening its doors, Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre has evolved into one of Singapore’s most dynamic venues for world‑class entertainment and business events. Designed with versatility at its core, the venue has hosted a wide spectrum of events – from global fashion shows and large-scale conferences to live concerts.

Over the years, international icons such as The Rolling Stones (2014), Michael Buble (2015) and Céline Dion (2018) have delivered sold-out shows at the venue, alongside regional stars and homegrown talent. These landmark concerts have helped redefine what a MICE destination can offer, strengthening our aim to celebrate both global and local music excellence.

A Stage for International Icons

The venue’s concert history reads like a global music atlas, with international chart-toppers and acclaimed performers taking the stage across a range of formats. From American indie band The Strokes (2023) to Japanese rock virtuoso Miyavi (2023), Mandopop powerhouse A-Lin (2025) and classic rock legends Air Supply (2026), the diversity of acts reflects the venue’s role as a cross-cultural entertainment hub.

Beyond headline concerts, the space has also hosted high-energy DJ sets and large-format showcases, with artistes such as Sabrina Carpenter, PSY, Rain, The 1975, Alan Walker and The Chainsmokers performing at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

Notably, The Rolling Stones’ 2014 performance transformed the Sands Grand Ballroom into an intimate, up-close setting—offering a rare “happy Stones family gathering” experience for a band of their stature. The ability to scale both up and down underscores Marina Bay Sands’ strength in delivering concert experiences that feel both expansive and personal.

Introducing homegrown music to international audiences through new formats

Support for the local music ecosystem is also equally embedded in Marina Bay Sands’ long‑term partnerships. Since July 2024, the I Play SG Music initiative developed in collaboration with the National Arts Council has embedded homegrown music throughout the Expo & Convention Centre. Daily curated playlists now feature homegrown names including Axel Brizzy, Linying, rhyu and shazza, enriching the visitor experience while promoting Singapore's vibrant music scene.

As concert formats continue to evolve, Marina Bay Sands is pushing boundaries in how live experiences are designed and delivered. This is showcased through its support for Bandwagon’s Virtual Gig Universe (VGIG), an immersive hybrid concert format that blends physical staging with interactive digital environments. Leveraging advanced LED projection, dynamic lighting systems and high-spec sound engineering, the venue enables performances to extend beyond the stage, creating multi-sensory experiences where audiences can engage with performers in an interactive digital environment.

By embracing innovative formats like VGIG, Marina Bay Sands extends its legacy beyond traditional concert staging, demonstrating how a MICE venue can continuously adapt to the future of live entertainment.

Whether hosting global icons or emerging talent, Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre brings concert-going energy into a setting defined by flexibility, precision and possibility.
