TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2026 Reimagines the Travel Retail Experience

Innovative formats and immersive spaces encouraged discovery and deeper networking across the global travel retail community

The Tax Free World Association (TFWA) Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference returned to Singapore from 10 to 14 May 2026, transforming all six halls at Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre into a hub for the global duty-free and travel retail community. Convening major airports, airlines, cruise operators and retailers, the event facilitated business exchange, networking and strategic dialogue across Asia Pacific.

Nearly 200 exhibitors were organised into immersive, category-focused 'Worlds' spanning beauty, fashion, confectionery, spirits and innovation. Designed for easier navigation, these zones encouraged stronger brand discovery, purposeful interactions and deeper industry connections.

To meet evolving attendee expectations, TFWA introduced new formats that enriched the delegate experience. Culinary activations, innovation showcases and emerging brand platforms showed how purposeful event design can strengthen engagement and connection.

Taste of the World

Delegates explored premium food and beverage showcases in a dedicated space framed by modular herb-lined walls.

The debut of Taste of the World brought gourmet experiences to the exhibition floor through a culinary destination that blended hospitality, networking and live entertainment. Delegates were welcomed with premium food and beverage offerings before gathering around a central stage for chef-led demonstrations and presentations.

Michelin-starred chef Akira Back demonstrated his signature salmon tataki and shared insights into creating memorable dining experiences.

Highlights included Michelin-starred chef and global restaurateur Akira Back, who demonstrated his signature salmon tataki while sharing insights on memorable dining experiences. The programme also featured Singaporean pastry artist Janice Wong and Korean chefs from Netflix's Culinary Class Wars in a special opening-night showcase.

Beyond dining, Taste of the World showed how food can catalyse networking by creating informal spaces for delegates to connect beyond traditional meeting settings.

World of Innovation

Future-focused concepts and technologies took centre stage in a dedicated innovation zone.

A key feature of the reimagined event was The World of Innovation, a dedicated zone showcasing pioneering technologies, retail concepts and product launches. Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, it enabled exhibitors and decision makers to exchange ideas and explore trends shaping travel retail.

At the heart of the zone was The Agora, an amphitheatre-style venue for presentations, workshops, product launches and start-up pitches. A Bang & Olufsen-powered café offered delegates an informal setting to continue conversations and build relationships.

Reimagining exhibitor booths for discovery and connection

Category-focused 'Worlds' transformed the show floor into a more immersive and intuitive experience.

Throughout the week, delegates explored interactive activations across Food & Beverage, Perfumes & Cosmetics, Wines & Spirits and Fashion. Organising exhibitors by category created a more intuitive visitor journey, helping buyers and stakeholders navigate efficiently while increasing exposure to complementary brands and products.

The immersive layout also strengthened networking by bringing like-minded businesses together. Through experiential showcases, live demonstrations and launches, exhibitors used the reconfigured spaces to spark conversations, build relationships and generate opportunities.

As TFWA Asia Pacific’s host venue partner since 2013, Marina Bay Sands continues to support the event in convening industry leaders, emerging brands and strategic partners in Singapore, a gateway to Asia Pacific's evolving travel retail market.

The 2026 edition underscored the industry’s shift towards experience-led event design. Through immersive spaces, curated content and purposeful networking, TFWA Asia Pacific showed how thoughtful design can deepen engagement and deliver stronger business outcomes.
