Through a diverse range of programmes that embrace interdisciplinary collaboration, creative problem-solving and environmental care, ArtScience Laboratory is a dedicated space for visitors to discover new concepts, navigate global challenges and share ideas to shape the future.
What to Expect: Creative activities and hands-on explorations across diverse themes and platforms to learn new skills.

Be inspired by the creative practice and scientific understanding of iconic Art-Scientists whose research, practices and projects bridge the worlds of art and science. Discover how these Art-Scientists express science concepts through creative technology and inventive artworks.
This series examines the work of selected Art-Scientists, using activities and creative design challenges to understand scientific principles and reflect how science and art practices are intertwined.
Inspired By: Olafur Eliasson – Colour and Light: Delve into experiments with light and colour, inspired by the art installations of Icelandic-Danish artist, Olafur Eliasson.
Inspired By: Theo Jansen – Motion: Explore the design and mechanics of simple automata, inspired by Dutch artist and engineer Theo Jansen’s wind-powered kinetic sculptures known as Strandbeests.
Inspired By: Patricia Piccinini – Genetics: Be inspired by Australian contemporary artist Patricia Piccinini’s works which imagines futures where genetically modified organisms coexists with humans. Create a hybrid creature while learning about genetics, evolution and the ethics of biotechnologies.
Spark interest in science and engineering topics using creative play and hands-on learning.
This series invites visitors to be both thinkers and makers. Visitors can put on their thinking caps and get engaged with seemingly daunting areas of science and technology through a fun and playful interdisciplinary lens.
Let’s Learn Artificial Intelligence with Games: Get to know generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) through games and interactive activities that demonstrate how AI mimics human intelligence.
Let's Learn Particle Physics with LEGO: Transform abstract concepts of particle physics into tangible experiments using hands-on play with LEGO blocks to represent subatomic particles—the building blocks of our universe.
Learn new creative skills using hands-on artistic techniques and digital technologies.
This series is focused on lifelong learning in an ever-evolving world. Visitors can explore both tactile and digital skills through hands-on workshops where they will take away a new skill and an original creation.
Create a Digital Model: Dive into the world of digital modelling by using 3D scanning and surface painting technologies to transform real-world objects into customised digital sculptures.
Create an Eco-Friendly Bag: Learn about plastics and sustainability practices and how to use simple sewing skills to craft your own eco-friendly bag made from recycled materials.
Discover our interconnectedness to nature and our role as an environmental steward of the future. Rooted in ArtScience Museum’s ethos of sustainability, engage with pressing global environmental issues–from biodiversity loss to sustainable development.
This series brings visitors into new environments to reflect on sustainability issues and inspire environmental responsibility. Through emotional and experiential learning, visitors can address environmental challenges and equip themselves with knowledge and skills to contribute to a more sustainable future.
We Are Nature Too: Embark on a physical and digital exploration of ArtScience Museum through a nature art trail and workshop to deepen our appreciation for nature and understand how we impact the world around us.
Sustainability in Design: Learn about environmentally conscious design through a tour of the museum, followed by a reflective activity, anchored around how the design of ArtScience Museum contributes to its sustainability efforts.
Tap into the ‘ABCs’ of wellness, care and compassion through creativity and scientific understanding.
This series bridges the cognitive and emotional, emphasising the importance of mental wellness. Visitors will learn about human psychology, well-being practices and mental wellness through tangible and accessible creative activities.

This activity involves the use of an iPad and Apple Pencil with version 5.3.7 of the app Procreate. All equipment is provided.
What is 3D Scanning and Painting?
3D scanning is a process of analysing an object from the real world to digitally recreate its shape and appearance. The surface of these digital models can be painted using a digital art software.
