One of Australia’s foremost culinary authorities, Chef Tetsuya Wakuda is renowned for his unique produce-led cuisine combining classic French techniques with Japanese tradition. 

Hailing from Hamamatsu, Japan, Chef Tetsuya began his journey in Sydney, 1982 as a humble kitchen hand.

Now, he is a celebrated chef consistently included on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list as voted for by the culinary world’s top critics and chefs. His first international restaurant Waku Ghin opened in 2010, followed by Wakuda’s debut in partnership with 50 Eggs Hospitality Group in 2022. Both restaurants at Marina Bay Sands have since gone on the garner global acclaim. A second outpost opened at The Venetian, Las Vegas in the same year.

Honoured with the President’s Medal by the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore 2023, Chef Tetsuya continues to shape the culinary landscape and foster Australia-Singapore ties.
