Women's Fashion
Layers, textures and muted colours form the foundations of BORA AKSU, the namesake label of its London-based Turkish founder and designer, Bora Aksu. The brand’s collections comprise equal parts romanticism and a refined yet modern aesthetic.
Known for its dreamy gowns, BORA AKSU’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection featured more of the same: eye-catching, frilly and feminine ready-to-wear, based on the melancholic gypsy tale of Romani poetess Papusza and her forest adventures. The collection perfectly captured the story with T-strap Mary Janes, shoulder cut-outs, frills, and lavender and off-blue dresses – one of which was worn by Canadian-New Zealand actress Anna Paquin during the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour for her TV show “Flack”.
The designer’s signature ruffle and pastel palette designs were seen once shown off at London Fashion Week 2019, which once more won the hearts of BORA AKSU’s clientele including singer-songwriters Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, and British actress Keira Knightley.
For his contributions to the British fashion industry, Bora Aksu has received the royal nod of approval from Queen Elizabeth II.
