Playmaking Session
For School Groups: This programme is eligible for the National Arts Council’s Tote Board Arts Grant subsidy.
Inspired by Theo Jansen’s world-famous Strandbeests — wind-powered walking “creatures” made from ordinary materials, this workshop introduces bold and simple engineering concepts. You will also invent and build your very own moving creation.
Learning Objectives
- To be creative in using ordinary materials to create a mini-sculpture inspired by Theo Jansen’s
- To create their designs, experiment with bold and simple engineering in a free and open-ended session.
