The spirit of giving was celebrated at the Sands for Singapore Festival when generous corporates and individuals rallied with Marina Bay Sands to raise of over S$3.8 million to benefit more than 80 charities and 300,000 Singaporeans.

Funds raised benefits charity partners including Art Outreach Singapore, Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN), Community Chest, Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, The Business Times (BT) Budding Artists Fund and the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf).

With the theme “Inspire the Future”, the charity weekend featured an exciting lineup of events and activities spanning the entire property, encouraging others to do good with Marina Bay Sands. Big-hearted corporates dined for a good cause at several charity dinners – the APSN Gala Dinner, the BT Dream Ball and the first-ever Celebrity Chef Dine Around – while benevolent individuals bidded generously in the auctions of The Art of Shopping and Celebrities Give Back to Singapore. Hotel guests and visitors also did their part for charity while visiting the Marina Bay Sands’ attractions where the weekend’s takings from the SkyPark Observation Deck, ArtScience Museum, sampan rides and Skating Rink were donated to charity too. 


Marina Bay Sands Gives Back to Singapore

Visitors to Sands SkyPark, the Skating Rink, Sampan Rides and ArtScience Museum over the weekend had fun for a good cause. All proceeds were donated to Community Chest.

Celebrities Give Back to Singapore

Attendees at this charity auction bid generously for items contributed by celebrities including David and Victoria Beckham, Jackie Chan, Andrew Garfield and Rio Ferdinand. All proceeds were donated to The Business Times Budding Artist Fund and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

The Art of Shopping

More retailers at The Shoppes did good for charity this year. International and local brands including Bally, Ferrari, Raoul and TWG Tea donated close to 40 items that will be transformed into unique art exhibits by local artists. Items were displayed for public viewing in-store and available for bidding online. All proceeds were donated to Art Outreach.

The Business Times (BT) Dream Ball

Guests enjoyed an evening of a scrumptious four-course dinner with wine, a twirl on the dance floor and a special performance by international ballroom champions Arunas Bizokas and Katusha Demidova. All proceeds were donated to BT Budding Artist Fund and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Celebrity Chefs Dine-Around

Guests savoured culinary delights created by celebrity chef restaurants, CUT (Wolfgang Puck), db Bistro Moderne (Daniel Boulud) and Mozza (Mario Batali) on 1 August. This charity event ended 200m in the air at Sands SkyPark’s Cheese and Chocolate Bar. Proceeds were donated to Singapore Association for the Deaf.

ComChest Heartstrings Walk & ‘Race To The Sky’ Vertical Marathon

Participants raced to the sky or walked around the bay at Community Chest’s annual 4km charity fun walk. The biggest event for the festival, it concluded with a bazaar at Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza. All proceeds were donated to over 80 beneficiaries supported by Community Chest.

The Strange Fruit company has entertained audiences at Marina Bay Sands since 2013.

The Spheres – is a brand new show for Marina Bay Sands and is a whimsical look at the creation of life through the eyes of four archetypical characters. Inspired by the beautiful imagery evoked in the poem The World by Henry Vaughan, Spheres characters explore humanity’s existential relationship to each other and our planet. Don’t miss out on these exclusive performances on the Event Plaza on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd August at 8.30pm and 10.00pm each night.
