Along The River In Auntieverse - 瀑楼车顶行 (#51) & 车陷峡谷间 (#70)

Renowned for her influential works on ‘auntie culture’ through the lens of AI and digital art, Singaporean artist Niceaunties reimagines Zhang Zeduan’s iconic handscroll Along the River during the Qingming Festival (1085 – 1145).
Glimpsing into speculative futures where the architectural and the absurd intersect, Niceaunties fuses 2 of 168 artworks in the Along The River In Auntieverse series - 瀑楼车顶行 (#51) and 车陷峡谷间 (#70) – in considering equality and ecological balance. Maintaining the isometric composition and architectural precision of Zhang Zeduan’s original scroll, the series updates the traditional landscapes through a modern, Auntieverse lens - presenting a future where aunties shape, disrupt, and adapt to speculative worlds. While Zhang’s work captures meticulously detailed urban life, Along the River in Auntieverse expands the narrative beyond human occupation, into landscapes shaped by modern industry and environmental collapse.
