The Future is Always First an Idea - Charu Kokate

Safdie Architects’ Charu Kokate headlines the second session in a series of online talks accompanying Radical Curiosity: In the Orbit of Buckminster Fuller.

As Partner and Director of Safdie Architects' Singapore office, Charu Kokate led on and oversaw the construction of iconic and complex structures, including Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort, Jewel Changi Airport and Sky Habitat Residential Towers.

Charu Kokate will be in conversation with Zhang Baoxin (Curator, Public Programmes at ArtScience Museum) to share about the studio’s projects which embrace the philosophy of comprehensive and humane design, and discuss the role of collaborative placemaking in urban design and architectural practice.

Based in Singapore, Charu Kokate, Partner at Safdie Architects, leads efforts across the region. A true advocate for high-level construction practices, Charu is integral to delivering projects that embody their original design intent. An active mentor to emerging industry professionals, Charu has a special interest in helping women in design shape their professional growth. In addition to public talks, lectures, and media appearances, Charu often serves as a design judge internationally and in Singapore.
