Femininity, freedom, audacity and modernity: CHANEL continues to embody what its founder, Coco Chanel, stood for, thanks to the legendary late Karl Lagerfeld. From little tweed jackets to quilted handbags with leather-woven chains, Lagerfeld has retained the zeitgeist’s inimitable blend of sophistication and luxury with his reinterpretations of the brand’s classics. CHANEL is the oldest operational haute couture house since 1918 in 31 Rue Cambon, Paris. The house features two collections per year with Lagerfeld attributing his defined sketches to two ateliers since 1983. CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2019 show was Lagerfeld’s last haute couture line for the label where he transformed the Grand Palais into a Mediterranean garden as a stage to reveal the collection.
The Camellia flower has been synonymous to CHANEL as the house’s symbol because when Chanel received her first camellia bouquets from her lover, Boy Capel, it mesmerized her with its perfect symmetry and how it evokes feelings of eternal beauty within her. From then on, the camellia flower has been seen as motifs on many bags, clothing, shoes and a dedicated CAMÉLIA jewellery collection.
Expect CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2019 and its latest fashion show in-boutique collections and accessories in Marina Bay Sands.
