 17 Apr 2019

Everyone needs a recharge now and again, particularly with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thankfully, these five things to do around the Marina Bay will improve your overall wellbeing – from sunrise yoga and indulging in plant-based meat burgers to taking a dip in the world’s longest rooftop pool.

Sunrise Yoga at Sands SkyPark

Sunrise Yoga

At 200 metres up from the heart of the city, Sands SkyPark sits on the 57th storey of Marina Bay Sands – the ideal location to take in panoramic views of the Singapore Strait and beyond, at once beckoning a sense of ease. Sunrise Yoga (from S$35) is a unique yoga experience at the Sands SkyPark where you can start your day right by saluting the rising sun and experience the comforting breeze during your workout.

The Impossible Burger

Impossible Burger

If you’ve always been a skeptic of plant-based meat, the good people at California-based Impossible Foods Inc. want you to know their creation tastes as close to the real thing as it gets – a fact we can attest to. And at three restaurants in Marina Bay Sands, you’ll find Impossible meat in seared patties, served atop flatbread or substituted into beef wellingtons – the latter of which you’ll find at Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. Check out all the Impossible Foods-based dishes to try here

Banyan Tree Spa

Banyan Tree Spa

Nothing beats a massage to pamper yourself after a tiring workout! Treat your mind and body at Banyan Tree Spa on the 55th floor with Asian-inspired massages and aromatherapy. Check out our Banyan Tree Spa package offers here, and enjoy an additional 10% discount if you are a Sands Rewards member!

Banyan Tree Fitness Club

Banyan Tree Fitness Club

If you’re not quite the early riser, then Sunrise Yoga may not be up your alley – but located two storeys down is Banyan Tree Fitness Club, which offers equally panoramic views of the Marina Bay area. Banyan Tree Fitness Club features resistance training and touch-screen cardio equipment. While entry is exclusive to Hotel guests, personal training sessions (from S$108 for a 60-min session) are open to the public.

After, refresh yourself in the gym’s hot pool, sauna and steam facilities to release muscle tension, lower blood pressure and detox the body.

Waterfront jogging or cycling around Marina Bay

The Marina Bay precinct is well-loved for its manicured greenery, paved walkways and scenic views that are framed by some of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks: the ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, which locals often joke resembles the pungent durian. Better yet, the area is safe for jogging or cycling at any time of day – which is why many running events have been organised in the area. These scenic running routes along the waterfront promenade are some of our favourites.

A dip at dawn in the Infinity Pool

Indulge yourself with a refreshing morning swim in the world’s tallest and longest Infinity Pool (daily, 6am – 10pm) on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands. Enjoy breathtaking views of the sunrise by the pool’s edge as the city awakens. Note, however, the pool is exclusive to Hotel guests. If you aren’t planning a stay here, enjoy the same views over a leisurely lunch at Spago Dining Room, which overlooks the famed Singapore pool.
