A New Normal

Marina Bay Sands continues to operate our venues and attractions with the highest degree of care, raising the bar in our safety, hygiene and testing standards to instill a greater sense of comfort among our communities.

From 20 October, Marina Bay Sands will implement the vaccination-differentiated safe management measures (VDS)  for the integrated resort, excluding Sands Expo and Convention Centre, to facilitate movement across the property. VDS eligibility checks will be conducted at the Hotel and Mall – major entry points into the IR – as well as at Attractions, the Casino and F&B outlets.

To enter any VDS zones, guests above the age of 12 will need to meet any of the criteria below:

  • Fully vaccinated (i.e. an individual is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after he or she has received the full regimen of any World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) vaccine); or
  • Recovered from COVID-19 (i.e. with a valid PET exemption notice/Discharge Memo stating the PET exemption period); or
  • Unvaccinated person with a valid negative Pre-Event Test (PET) result for the duration of his/her visit (i.e. the PET result must be of sufficient valid duration for entry).

Guests who require PET to enter our property or to continue their stay can access an on-site Pre-Event Testing (PET) facility for walk-in PET tests without prior appointment. This facility is located at Begonia Ballroom 3104, Level 3, Sands Expo & Convention Centre, and will operate from 0700 to 2300 hours daily.

Guests will only be allowed entry into the VDS zones if they receive a negative test result. For more information on our onsite PET service, click here.

Among our staff, vaccination rates have reached more than 97 per cent. A further enhancement of our Rostered Routine Testing programme for staff is also in place, with testing frequency differentiated based on the vaccination status of individual Team Members and their job risk profiles. This means that guest-facing staff will undergo swab tests at a frequency ranging from every three days up to every seven days.

The integrated resort, which has hygiene and sanitisation certifications under SG Clean as well as Bureau Veritas, is committed to being vigilant on all fronts, working closely with the authorities to respond and adapt quickly to the evolving situation.

We urge all visitors to continue to play their part in this ongoing situation, whether it is using the TraceTogether app or Token, wearing of masks, or observing safe management measures.

Marina Bay Sands donates 15,000 kg of food to charities

Ahead of its three-month closure during Singapore's Circuit Breaker in 2020, Marina Bay Sands rallied its restaurants and donated nearly 15,000 kg worth of perishables, such as breads, vegetables, fruits, herbs, meat and dairy products, and 3,600 eggs to The Food Bank Singapore, a charity that collects excess food from food suppliers and re-distributes it to organisations such as old folks' homes, family service centres and soup kitchens. "As an integrated resort, we consume a lot of food every day, from our staff dining rooms to our restaurants. We hope our donated food will fill up the tables of the underprivileged and keep them warm and full during these unprecedented times,” said Christine Sheares, Vice President, F&B, Marina Bay Sands.

Added Nicholas Ng, Co-founder of The Food Bank Singapore, "We truly appreciate Marina Bay Sands’ thoughtfulness and generosity. Our donations and volunteer involvement have been badly impacted by the pandemic. The sponsored food will help alleviate the food insecurity concerns of our beneficiary members. We would like to call out to more organisations to join Marina Bay Sands and donate their excess food to feed the hungry.
