8 November 2017
Level 4
2pm – 6.30pm
Drop-in activities
- Flip book
A flip book is a simple way of learning how animation works. Put the images together in sequence, and flip through all of the pages at the same pace to see a short animated movie.
- Ray box
Experience light and colour through play with a ray box. Various objects such as prisms and crystals make rainbows and patterns. Come try them out!
- Shadow puppetry
Dinosaurs have different characteristics like sharp teeth or a long neck. Colour in a shadow puppet and use the torchlights provided to create a story based on their features.
- Thaumatrope
A thaumatrope consists of a disc with two different images on both sides. When it is rapidly rotated, the two images will appear to combine as one single image. Make and take home one today!
- Kaleidocycle
Have you seen a kaleidocycle before? Fold one and watch how it transforms and animates as you move the model.
