School Holiday Programme: Inflatable Dreams

Enjoy a fun day out with the family this school holidays with Inflatable Dreams, a series of family-friendly films, workshops and drop-in activities, presented alongside our latest exhibition Floating Utopias.

Kids will receive a unique Inflatable Activity Guide to enjoy whilst exploring the exhibition and continue with follow-up activities at home. This is applicable to every purchase of a Child ticket* to Floating Utopias. 

*Valid for Single, Double and All-Access tickets from 1 Jun – 30 Jul 2019.

Stand Up and Speak Out! (Workshop) 

Friday 7 & 21 Jun | 4.30pm - 5.30pm
Venue: Rainbow Room, Basement 2

Explore the various possibilities of inflatables and how they can be used to generate new experiences, including the opportunity to address importance topics like climate change.

Create an inflatable sculpture and stage a peaceful march around the Museum to create an awareness and spread the message!

*$5 per participant. Up to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

A family-friendly film programme featuring some of cinema’s most iconic balloon adventures. Experience flight, fantasy and inflated balloons as a selection of brave young heroes go on bold expeditions, to make new friends and follow their curiosity.

This programme is part of a season of events and activities curated in response to our latest exhibition, Floating Utopias: The Transformative Power of Inflatable Art (23 May - 29 September 2019). Floating Utopias is a playful and poetic exhibition that explores the social history of inflatable objects, showing how they have been used in art, architecture and social activism over the decades.

The Dream and Do-do-do… Party

June 22 & 23 | 2pm – 5pm
Venue: Rainbow Room, Basement 1

Who do you dream of becoming? Join ground-up inclusive arts movement Superhero Me for a weekend for fun interactive art parties designed to inspire children to shape their dreams and build a stronger sense of self. Featuring music performances and art jams by youths with special needs, who have taken steps to pursue their passion, children are invited to challenge their creativity by crafting with inflatables and expand their understanding of the world through stories of dreams into reality.

This drop-in session is complimentary to all ArtScience Museum visitors.
