Leveraging unique offerings to elevate the Marina Bay Precinct

In January, Marina Bay Sands celebrated the arts with the return of ‘Where Art Takes Shape’. Now in its second year, the signature arts festival is held in tandem with ART SG, Southeast Asia’s largest art fair, which was held at Sands Expo & Convention Centre from 17 to 19 January 2024.

As the headliner for the arts festival, ART SG welcomed a record 45,300 visitors this year. The event had 116 galleries from 33 countries and territories, showcasing various forms of art including large-scale installations and experimental films across 3 sectors – GALLERIES, FOCUS, and FUTURES.

Complementing the visual spectacle, ArtScience Museum screened two captivating film programmes at ArtScience Cinema. ART SG FILM: EMBODIED PRESENCES showcased video and film works by 17 artists, curated by Sam I-shan while Technotopias: A Cao Fei Multiverse explored celebrated artist Cao Fei's 20-year career, offering a Southeast Asian premiere of her films and encouraging reflections on the future in an ever-evolving society.

Expressing creativity through food

Bridging culinary delight with artistry, various restaurants across Marina Bay Sands enchanted guests with an assembly of over 40 newly created limited-time cocktails and mocktails as well as bar bites in celebration of the wondrous world of art.

Exploring art trails around the Marina Bay precinct

Art enthusiasts could also embark on self-guided art trails around the Marina Bay precinct. The integrated resort is home to 11 large-scale installations from Sky Mirror outside ArtScience Museum to Drift at the Hotel Lobby. Art installations could also be found around the entire precinct, from the waterfront promenade to the heart of the Central Business District.
