These fine dining restaurants combine luxurious gourmet meals with an elegant ambience, perfect for impressing clients or spoiling loved ones over a delightful weekday lunch.

 

Chinoiserie

 

CHINOISERIE Modern Asian by Justin Quek

Experience a new level of French-Asian fine dining at celebrity Chef Justin Quek’s CHINOISERIE with their luxuriously plush tables and exquisite set menus. The 3-course meal starts at S$68++ per person, and the 4-course meal is priced at S$88++ per person.

Available Monday to Friday, 12pm to 3pm, the lunch set features specials such as the Truffle Xiao Long Bao - cuts of Duck Foie Gras and Jamon Iberico Ham mixed with Black Truffle Consommé suspended inside soft, fluffy dumpling – and the Hokkaido Diver Scallop Ceviche, made with briny yet sweet Japanese salmon roe and micro herbs, drizzled with refreshingly tangy lemongrass soy dressing.

KOMA

 

KOMA

This stunning restaurant and sushi bar offers a modern interpretation of Japanese cuisine. The Fushimi Inari Shrine-inspired orange arches in the passageway and 2.5m Japanese ‘bell’ instantly transports diners to Japan. KOMA offers 2-course and 3-course lunch sets with scrumptious dishes to choose from, available weekdays between 11.30am and 3pm.

Seafood enthusiasts will love the delicately flavoured Unagi Chawanmushi, a savoury egg custard whipped up with BBQ eel, egg custard, and shiitake mushrooms, garnished with mitsuba and drizzled with truffle unagi sauce. Steak lovers can enjoy the gorgeously grilled A5 Wagyu Beef Tenderloin with rainbow carrots, red wine sauce and steamed rice for a meal bursting with flavour.

Delight in distinct Japanese cuisine for S$48++ (2-course set) or S$58++ (3-course set). For lunch on weekends, KOMA offers a 3-course meal at S$68++.

This award-winning restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine inspired by time-honoured recipes and created with modern innovative cooking techniques. Start off your Executive Set Lunch (S$55++) with the tantalising Crispy Roasted Pork Belly. Keep the flavour going with dim sum prepared with Spot Prawns, Iberico Pork, and Flying Fish Roe Siu Mai.

Prep your palate for the mains: Deep-fried Cod Fish delights with the delicious flavours of garlic and chilli, and the Braised Egg Noodles with XO Spicy Sauce is guaranteed to hit the spot. Finish your meal on a sweet note with a classic Chinese dessert – the soft, chewy Glutinous Rice Dumpling bursts with a sweet Black Sesame paste.

Bread Street Kitchen

Owned by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, this waterfront restaurant is a great spot to enjoy British comfort food. At Bread Street Kitchen, dig into traditional British fare and weekday favourites such as the Beef Wellington (S$160++) and Fish & Chips (S$30++).

Steak-lovers should drop in on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy the Traditional Roast (S$45++). A succulent, medium-rare piece of USDA prime striploin, served alongside an unmissable Yorkshire pudding. The steak is best enjoyed with a slather of horseradish cream, and a touch of the rich and smoky red wine gravy.

So Pho

 

So Pho

Sample authentic Vietnamese food in a casual and contemporary setting at So Pho. The restaurant’s intricate décor features lanterns and green, providing a pleasant ambiance to dine in. With the countless options available on the menu, it can be difficult to choose just one. You can’t go wrong with the chef-recommended Special Pho (S$18.80++) – chewy handmade noodles in So Pho’s signature aromatic broth.

Made with rice flour, Pho noodles are crafted by hand and dunked into a bowl of clear, fatty broth, flavoured with simmered remnants of tendons, and other meats. Tender slices of marbled Sirloin beef are layered on top, accompanied by deliciously dense meatballs. Garnish as you wish with some crunchy bean sprouts, freshly-chopped cilantro, spicy chillies and the wonderfully fragrant Thai basil.

Yardbird Southern Table & Bar

Time Out Miami’s ‘Best American Restaurant’ winner, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar is a casual, waterfront diner with stunning views and an excellent lunch selection. Yardbird’s Executive Lunch Set (S$46++) offers the refreshing Lobster & Shrimp Roll - a medley of flavours that combines fresh seafood with the creaminess of the avocado, pieces of brioche, celery leaves and a garnishing of house salt. A side of crunchy vinegar chips is just the thing you need to complete this summer favourite.

Yardbird's Signature tender and juicy Smoked Pork Ribs is a must-try dish. This fall-off-the-bone masterpiece is skilfully slathered with dry rub and cooked on carefully picked hickory wood for anywhere between 3 and 5 hours. A flavourful bite of this distinctly smoky and tangy dish is enough to satiate your cravings for delicious barbecue.

LAVO

 

LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

This famed restaurant offers fantastic rooftop views of the city with an excellent selection of Italian-American dishes. Available weekdays between 11am and 3.30pm, their lunch menu (S$38++) includes a wide assortment of salads, pastas, pizzas, and sandwiches. Must-try LAVO classics include The Meatball: carved out of 1lb of fresh ground mix of Imperial Wagyu, super tender veal, and Italian sausage, smothered in marinara, and topped with a lavish portion of delicately whipped ricotta cheese.

Another much-lauded dish is the slightly smoky, summer-favourite Charred Octopus cooked with crisp celery and endive, mild fennel, and seasoned with earthy oregano, and tangy red wine vinaigrette. Those looking for a midday drink can pick their favourites from LAVO’s extensive list of handcrafted cocktails, wines, and beers.

Spago Dining Room by Wolfgang Puck

Take your lunch up a notch with this international offshoot of Chef Wolfgang Puck’s renowned Beverly Hills restaurant, which crafts imaginative Californian cuisine with a global twist.

Spago’s specially curated 3-course Prix Fixe (S$65++, available 12pm – 2.30pm daily) offers a tantalising range of signature dishes. The scrumptious Big Eye Tuna Tartare Cones are an explosion of flavours in your mouth and a popular favourite. Served in sesame cones, the crunch is followed by the unexpected mix of salty soy, spicy wasabi and chilli aioli, and miso. The fresh cubes of tuna inside the cone are topped with bonito, masago roe and shreds of scallion – appetising additions to an already fantastic dish.

Founded in 1903, Angelina offers breakfast items, pastas and high tea sets in a cosy tea room setting.

Available 12pm to 2.30pm, their executive set lunch (S$42++) includes a Portobello Mushroom Soup starter, a choice of mains such as Seafood Aglio Olio - prepared with fresh tiger prawns, scallops, mussel – and Smoked Grilled Chicken Thigh, and of course, dessert. Choose from classic ice cream flavours and end your meal with Angelina’s exquisite tea selections.

Alternatively, take your pick from their extensive a la carte menu, or indulge in their special afternoon tea set for the perfect high tea experience.

Cedele

 

Cedele

Cedele pioneers ‘healthy food’ that lives and breathes its ethos of ‘Eat Well, Live Well’. Their comprehensive menu features pasta, salads, sandwiches and more. Seafood lovers will appreciate the Black Pepper Crab (S$21++): delicate softshell crab with spicy notes from black pepper and curry leaves, served over wholewheat spaghetti or linguine.

For a heavier meal, dig into their Full Plate Brunch Set (S$20++), which includes succulent Thuringer ‘snail’ sausage and juicy bacon, with juicy roasted vine tomatoes and button mushrooms on the side. You’ll also find tangy toasted sourdough, which you can slather with Cedele’s homemade orange lingonberry chutney. Add on your choice of eggs from scrambled, poached, or sunny-side up.
